The rules for using Atamaji. Two things matter: all of it is a joke, and typing someone else's name is your responsibility.

1. What this service is

Atamaji is a joke tool. It takes a string of characters and mechanically produces a picture and a line of text from it.

It is not fortune telling, not a diagnosis, not a personality test and not statistics. It uses no divination method of any kind. The results have no academic or statistical basis whatsoever, and they say nothing about any real person's character, thinking, ability or behaviour.

2. What you must not do

  • Use the service to defame or harass anyone
  • Enter discriminatory or obscene strings
  • Use it to impersonate someone
  • Interfere with the running of the service
  • Anything unlawful

Any of the above is prohibited.

3. Typing someone else's name

If you enter another person's name and make the result public, you do so on your own responsibility.

4. Taking a result down

A result may be withdrawn at the request of the person concerned or someone close to them, for a breach of these terms, or where required by law or by a public authority. A report on its own does not take anything down automatically; each one is read and decided on.

Images already posted to or saved from other services cannot be called back.

5. Result addresses

We do not guarantee that a result address will keep working. The daily reading expires after a set period. An address also stops working if the encryption key has to be rotated for security reasons.

6. No liability

Everything this service produces is fiction. The operator is not liable for any loss arising from a decision or an action taken on the basis of a result.

7. Governing law and jurisdiction

The service is operated from Japan. These terms are governed by the laws of Japan, and the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over any dispute arising from them.

The Japanese version of these terms is the original. Where the English and Japanese versions differ, the Japanese version governs.

Nothing here removes a right you have under the consumer protection law of the country you live in, where that law applies and cannot be waived by agreement.
